Commemoration of International Women's Day

At the end of last year, MMPZ produced a report entitled The Media’s coverage of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. It was produced in response to the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in December, which was a civil society initiative.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, MMPZ would like to share this report with our subscribers to illustrate how Zimbabwe’s media played their role of informing the public about the 16 Days’ campaign and the problems society faces in relation to gender-based violence. Ironically, the issue of gender-based violence only attracted prominent media coverage during the 16 days of the awareness campaign at the end of last year but deserves more consistent attention.We hope you find this report helpful.
